The Importance of Skillful Questioning in Interior Design
Talent and skillful questioning; the technique used by interior designer Steven C. Adamko; takes your words, derived from that skillful questioning, and uses them to create an orchestrated interior design with the perfect look and ambiance, specially tailored to you.
Hi, I’m Steve Adamko. I am an interior designer in Portage-Kalamazoo, Michigan. My business is Spectrum Interiors, established in 1982.
Why I Begin with Your Words, Not Photographs
Now, whenever I start an interior design project, I very rarely start with photographs. I want to know what the client thinks, wants, and feels regarding their space or home. Their words are the containers for their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. My skillful questioning brings all of these out into the open, where they can be looked at, talked about, and used to start the conceptualization process.
Your Home Should Reflect You—Not Someone Else
Photos in magazines might give an impression of what clients might like, but the photos are usually from another place, time, or environment. They’re usually someone else’s home—not theirs. So why try to duplicate, in whole or in part, someone else’s home and environment? Why not start with YOU? And I mean you and your environment.
It’s through words that I can really interpret something especially designed and tailored for you!
Function and Beauty Must Work Together
All this discussion with words and skillful questioning gives free rein to the imagination. It gives free rein to my imagination.
Do I still have to think of all the functions of the space and what kind of activities are going to go on in that space? Of course I do. A good designer has to make that as much of a priority as aesthetics. They both work hand in hand. Function and aesthetics are intertwined, just as the human body is.
The Right Questions Lead to the Right Design
The words that you use are a result of my skillful questioning. I know how to ask the right questions in order to get the right answers, so that I can deliver the right results. And the right result is a combination of the perfect look and the perfect ambiance, uniquely tailored to you and your environment.
That is exactly and precisely what I deliver, every time. I am like an expert archer in that regard. I always hit the bull’s-eye. I have been doing that for over 40 years, and I continue to do it. And, as they say down South, “If you can do it, it ain’t bragging.”
If You Want a Truly Personalized Interior
So, that’s what I deliver. That’s what I offer. If you want an interior designer who will provide this level of insight, service, and leadership—and lead you down the right path for you, so that you are elated when it is all said and done—then you need to call me immediately. Right now. Because skillful questioning is the key to wonderful interior design beyond your expectations.
